Roomba Owners, share with me your personal experiences...

We've got concrete floors and we're looking for mostly dry vacuuming or maybe some very light damp/dust mopping capability. We have a single level home without any crazy rooms or transitions (again concrete flooring throughout).
Any of you want to share how your Roomba/Scooba/iRobot unit has done for you? What would you recommend that blends what we'd like and an inexpensive (read: OT Poor) price point?

I own a NEATO XV-21 and I like it a lot. It has an actual pattern for cleaning as opposed to randomness from Roomba.
But overall, having a robot vac is incredible. Its set to run while we're at work once a week and I come home to a spotless bedroom. Its carpet and we have a dog, so its pretty necessary.

Have one of those iRobot ones and it works pretty well, just have to shut the bedroom doors so it won't get into the carpet, and it does pretty good work on the kitchen/dining/living areas.
The only time it ever gets stuck is when it high-centers itself on the floor outlet in the living room. If I was running it when I wasn't home I'd just have to put something on top of the outset.
It picks up a lot of crud each time, more than I would have thought was laying around.

We have the Roomba and love it. We have 2 small boys so the kitchen floor is always a mess with crumbs, dirt from them coming in from playing, etc. We run it every weekday morning.
It's amazing how full that thing gets even running it 5+ times a week.
I did a good bit of research and wanted to Neato. Couldn't justify the extra $120 or so though. Roomba is pretty random but gets the job done.

I know a guy that has a Neato and loves it. I have brick and wood floors with a couple of rugs. I also have 2 dogs. One is a GS mix. The hair is unbeLievable. I am interested in one of these devices and could use some advice.

I have an 890 series. We love it. It works well on hardwoods as well as carpet. We run it everyday except Saturday.

We have a neato D80 I think and love it.

I have a Neato D80, dirty boots, and a black lab. Have to clean that thing out every day. I did just have to send it back because of a software glitch, but they're sending me a brand new one. Wasn't a hassle at all.
I rarely ever vacuum now

Roomba is freaking awesome, especially if you have pets

We have a Roomba 770. I love it. I have it scheduled to run every day. When it finally quits, it will have to be replaced. I consider it a necessary, major appliance just like my washer and dryer.

I have a Neato, don't recall the model number, and love it. I set it up to run Monday, Wednesday and Friday and it'll do my whole house without getting hung up. It took a few test runs to figure out where it would have issues but it's great now. Rarely do I ever take out my normal vacuum and I prefer the pattern of the Neato versus the randomness of the Roomba.

We have a Roomba and if it were to crap out I would definitely get another robot vac. It's one of those things that you don't know what you're missing till you try it. We have a German Shedder and it helps a lot with the hair.
I do think I would try the Neato however bc as mentioned before it has a more direct pattern rather than the randomness of the Roomba. Every time my Roomba starts it heads straight for my dogs water bowl which is pretty annoying, and it does get stuck under our bed regularly.
Another piece of advice I'd give is to
Look on Amazon for the "used" version. We got the 790 series I believe and it was simply just returned to Amazon for one reason or another without being used. It was about $2-300 cheaper than the brand new version and the only difference was the box had been open.

Well, I had a full review typed up, by TD's script stopped as usual, and lost it all for me. These things are life changing if you are an adult who cares about keeping a clean house. Worth every penny and more.
My advice when purchasing, don't worry about advanced filters because they will get clogged anyway. Get one with scheduling because they are loud (we've got Roomba 650), and the model I have cleans about 900 sqft per run, and can be run twice a day without issues.

Room a 900 series is amazing. Transitions from wood to carpet very well and cleans the entire house while we're at work. Highly recommend.

I have the Neato XV-21 as well.
Had the roomba before and the charger was destroyed in a lightening storm. Wasn't happy with it and instead of buying a new charger, I just bought the Neato. Couldn't be happier. It's wayyyyyyy better than my roomba. Just leave all the doors open and the thing just cleans the entire house. If the battery dies, it goes charge them picks up where it left off. The roomba would just miss rooms or areas and have no clue. Also, the roomba would ram into furniture and damage it. None of those issues with the neato

I have a Neato as well. It runs mon- fri because of my shedding dog. It's amazing and I recommend you buy one.
At first it took a couple weeks to get it working right because it would get caught under my couch but I just raised my couch a half inch and now it hardly ever gets stuck when running.
Love the fact that I can run it for the entire house and if it can't make it on one charge it stops and goes back to the base to charge then after its full it picks up exactly where it left off.

I'm a Neato customer for life. Love their product. It does an excellent job.

My friend had one that ran over a piece of dog poop and smeared it around the house. Only experience with one

I can second this as being an issue. A friend's weiner dog shite on the rug. He came home to shite covering all the floors, and shite caked into the grooves on the wheels, the brush bristles, and bottom of the Roomba.
