What happens if there is an human/machine singularity and all peoples conciousnesses could be uploaded into a computer.

I think that is the next step. Not destruction my computers/machines buy assimilation with them.

Why do people keep moving forward with this AI robot drone crap when we know they will eventually destroy us?!? Are we that damn arrogant as to think we can control it? It's like we're paving the way to our own destruction.

We can control it. All of these physicists and "roboticists" predicting a robot apocalypse are doing so fully aware of how far we are from it. We're talking hundreds of years. It's all just "clickbait science" for publicity. Many leading figures in the Computer Science field think the idea is laughable considering it currently takes 18 hours to produce on 1 second of thought of the brain of a simple earthworm. Pure and simple, there is no "thought" here. These results were planned.

I'll start fearing this sort of thing when we are capable of a non-deterministic creation. Until then, I'll just continue to have the same amount of fear as I do of RC racecars and consumer-grade drones.

There goes that arrogance that was brought up earlier in the thread.

A people zoo designed to make people happy would include good food, sex, some kind of meaningful work, and entertainment.

If it's programmed to mimic people it will be a small cage. Like prison.
