IDGAF what they say. Sam Houston will not come down. Nobody really gives a shite about Lee here. He isn't ingrained into Texas culture. It was a nice statue but at the end of the day he joined the rebels, he lost, so he gets shite. Too bad so sad. I grew up in Tyler and REL changing names is no big deal either.

What did he accomplish besides winning two elections? He isn't even the first black president. He doesn't have any slave blood so not black by NAACP standards.

Tell us when Robert E. Lee was convicted of treason.

This is the attitude that will allow the loons to keep doing this nonsense.

Being POTUS twice is an accomplishment I'd say. Doesn't matter if you think he did a good job or not.

This is a whole thread of right wingers crying because they are offended. It happens on both sides.

Also, this place should be doing everything in their power to keep that statue in good condition and getting it into their doors.

When they're tearing down Andrew Jackson and Thomas Jefferson, I doubt they stop at Sam Houston.

Dont think it will happen?

Thats Jefferson btw. There's even a sign saying "TJ is a racist rapist". This has zero to do with the confederacy.

Logic isnt a strong suit for these loons.

Remove him from power to enter the confederacy then make him a hero posthumously

Just do what this guy did right outside of Nashville. It's highly visible on 65 heading North right before you get into town. Put the statue up on your own land and tell em all to get fricked.

He'll be fine, but Stephen F. Austin was a slave owner. When do you think the progressives in central Texas are going to demand Austin change its name?

Removed unwanted Lee statue from Lee Park. Makes perfect sense.
