I would normally agree but that info is more than likely from the SoS website.

Your friend is a debtor. A debtor to Riverside Towing.

No he's not. What are they going to do, tell the cops "So we were illegally storing towed cars offsite..."

Riverside got hit for this a few years ago if I'm not mistaken.

anyone else had to deal with these P.O.S. ?

Can't be any worse than the towing company I had to deal with 30+ years ago when I was in school; back in my day it was Doug Reed Towing.

And yes, they are all vultures. Scum of the earth.

Trust me that doesn't stop them. They tried to tow me from Zippy's once when I was in the restaurant placing an order. My car was in that space legally, and was there less than 5 minutes before they started hooking up to it.

That was years ago, and we haven't been back to that establishment since.

You're in Nola and people were blocking your driveway. What does any of this have to do with the thuggishness of Riverside Towing in BR?

If you do not park like an a-hole you should never have to deal with the "thuggishness" of any tow company. If you are being towed for no reason, maybe a few lawsuits would stop it.

The same issues exist in New Orleans. If you park in an "empty parking lot" for a shopping center and go to a bar across the street, you can bank on being towed because you are parked illegally. Businesses here are just as aggressive in protecting their "empty parking lots."

I'd say it's worse in New Orleans.

They also tow people who are parked legally- but you're having trouble comprehending this.

LSU really needs to use their power to do something about them. They tow so many parents visiting and new students. Riverside pretty much says frick you and it's a terrible way to say welcome to LSU and Baton Rouge.

I still have no idea how those bastards haven't had their illegal business practices exposed yet.

You're apparently having the problem with comprehension. Check out that last sentence.

However, I am willing to bet almost every single tow involves a car parked illegally. I never had a car towed in my life because I don't park like an a-hole.

In new Orleans if you don't pay for your parking spot, it's not your designated parking spot, or you're not parking in a lot specifically designated for the business you're actually visiting, you're probably parked illegally. Js

Is it so hard to park in visitor parking spots/lots? Or is walking a few hundred yards that inconvenient?

Obviously you don't know about the Northgate Buffalo Wild Wings towing fiasco.

Did that involve BWW having actual customers towed? The beef is with BWW in those circumstances.

I know a popular parking lot here where everyone gets towed is located near a 24 hour cvs. It's apparently too inconvenient to park legally to go to neighboring businesses so people park in that lot because it's always "empty."

It's amusing to watch then get towed especially since there are warning signs everywhere.

If their practices are illegal wouldn't they be getting sued left and right?

In addition, many people on here have talked about having their cars towed by Riverside from their apartment complexes, ie, parked legally
