The man was a comedy genius. He wrote phrases that became permanent parts of the American lexicon. Everyone loves the 80's? The 80's wouldn't have been shite without Harold Ramis. A great light has gone out of this world. I really believe that.

I think it's safe to blame Peter Torokvei.

My list from the M/TV thread:

quote:

Caddyshack
Animal House
Vacation
Ghostbusters
Stripes
Groundhog Day
Multiplicity
Back to School

makes him the GOAT. If I was left with nothing comedic but these 8 films for the rest of my life. I would die filled with laughter.

I just read this excellent profile of Harold Ramis that was temporarily removed from a pay wall just for today.

It's a long read, but it's worth it if you like Ramis' work.

Harold Ramis was a great guy, really cool. I have a couple of short letters from him that I will always treasure.

Ghostbusters had a ton of deleted scenes that further explored that relationship.

Is that irony?

From "Groundhog Day":
"It's the young man from the Motor Club."
"Fastest jack in the West!"

From "Stripes" when asked by the Army recruiter if he or Bill murray were homosexuals: "No, but we're willing to learn."
