They won’t answer and no name on the voicemail.

Wouldn’t be too worried about it then in today’s world where people can use your phone number I get 5-10 calls a week from people saying I called them but never did. Probably just something like that

If they call back just answer and ask them if their refrigerator is running

Why are you even seeing calls from numbers you don't know? Whitelist or be ignored.

So, I actually got a call from the Tuscaloosa City Jail once

this was just 2 years ago, my oldest kids were 16 an 20 at the time

I legit freaked out - turned out to be a spammer ghosting phone numbers

Pretty common thing right now

This

I've returned calls a couple times, and got some confused people on the other end. And they in no way sounded like the voicemail messages I'd get. There's no point in blocking the number, it wasn't them calling you in the first place.

Just be very careful on the words you use, if you ever answer. Never acknowledge anything.

Picked up the link from here many years ago and it works really well. Even for cellphone numbers.

That’s weird. I searched my own phone number and it pulled up 2 listings of me and one of a girl that used to work for me.

No, I never in any way touched that girl.

When's the last time you saw a residential phone book?

Haven’t had a land line for probably close to ten years.
Out local phone company sends out a “phone book” every year.
You an hear people up and down the street “the news phone books are in, the new phone books are in”.
