Can someone please explain the point of this? Is this a "We're having problems so another party should fix those" or "We like to be the center of attention, let's see who we can get to come to a fake rewedding." If you've done this, please shed some light on something that to me seems completely redundant.

exactly. If that's what the couple want, then good for them. I see no issue with it

My wife and I didn't have a traditional wedding. So for our 10 year aniversery we renewed our vows for all of our family and friends to be a part of it.

No pics

It's not that I have an issue with it in the sense that I think it's wrong, it's more that I don't see the point in redoing something that is by definition supposed to be done once. Dyslexic, I can see your point. By the way, was the formal wedding more your idea or hers?

Then why not ask like this in the op instead of acting like an angry little penis?

I thought I was pretty clear that I didn't understand the point. The "angry penis," as you so eloquently put it, was just a sarcastic attempt to list what seem to be common reasons for a lot of renewals. And Dyslexic, I understand that both of you agreed to do it, but who came up with the idea originally? It just seems unlikely that you both thought of this at exactly the same time.

When we decided to get married 12 years ago, we talked about having a renewal latter when we could afford it.

To be fair, people used to be dead by 35. We live longer now, so it makes more sense.

Idk why someone would want to get married a first time, much less do it all over again years later.

Not everyone that renews their vows does it in the form of another wedding in front of a bunch of people.

For some they made it something private for just them. Maybe the couple had been having lots of marital struggles and came through some dark times together and wants to reaffirm their commitment to one another.

Only thing that seems silly with vow renewals is when you do it when you have only been married a couple years. Imo save that at least until you have been married 10 years or more.

I miss your advice. My son kissed me goodbye on the lips when I dropped him off at school the other day and I thought about you.

You pregnant yet?

I'd rather hear about someone going through vow renewals than a dramatic divorce. Celebrating happiness is a GOOD thing IMO
