When I'm in charge of this planet, no one will be reproducing until they complete a thorough criminal background check, a psychological assessment and exhibit suitable financial resources and parenting skills. If a bank can make you qualify for a mortgage, some competent authority ought to be able to make sure you qualify to raise another human being. Specifically, a non-fricked up human being!

The first few times I saw the TV alert, it literally only said something like there was a child endangerment alert issued for Louisiana. Literally no other details in the text. There might have been more info in the voice message, but I was in a restaurant and couldn't hear it. Very poor presentation IMO.

Both funny in a way, the first talking about those motels as being a nice place to leave a kid in the car while he takes a nap and the second with the Ruston police officer and reporter saying that it is never a good idea to leave a kid in the car even if just going in a store, safety over convenience. Sound advice, but this wasn't just a store.
