My room mate is searching for an employment lawyer currently, and all he has been told is "don't use someone who advertises", but has not been given any actual recommendations.

Neither of us have any type of experience with this, or any lawyer for that matter, other than an estate lawyers a while back. I figured this would be the best place to ask for advice, so does any one have any experience with this? Or have any recommendations?

Thanks

John Walsh does employment law and also the lady who recently represented Mary Roper. Google the story and you can find her name.

Would you prefer "labor and employment"? On his end, it is someone to have on retainer to protect and advise on employment practices and labor disputes, also advises on ADR for smaller businesses with problem employees.

On the other spectrum they handle anything from wrongful termination, to discrimination in the workplace.

Is this detailed enough for you? I figured you would be able to reasonably understand when pairing the word "employment" with the word "lawyer", but obviously that was an idiotic assumption on my part.

I'm calm, just dont appreciate someone posting something blatantly smart-arse and fruitless when requesting a recommendation.

Allison Jones in Shreveport is absolutely outstanding if she'll take your case.

Do you have any clue where you are posting? You might want to figure out the OT before you get your man thong in a knot.

You posted this on the OT, if you want real answers I would post it in the Money Board.

I assumed you were looking for someone who represents an employee (plaintiff side). Is that right?

This is a serious place for serious answers. I think I need to start a thread to diagnose my diseases properly, since the doctors always just want to give me their opinions

That depends. I don't know a lot of employment lawyers who advertise on the plaintiff side. I know of none who advertise (in that manner of speaking) on the defense side.

In general, there are good lawyers who advertise. I wouldn't necessarily rule someone out because they do so.

If you are not going to tell us why they were fired, can we guess?
