I need to upgrade to a ZTR and looking for recommendations for a good residential model

I'm interested in the Husqvarna models that they sell at Stine because they are having a tax free weekend this coming weekend.

I'm also interested in the Hustler mowers but I haven't spoken to any dealers about pricing

Any other recommendations?

I need a 42 or 48 inch deck, preferably fabricated

I'd like to keep the price at or around 3k

I was told by a pretty reputable source that the "welded" deck on the hustler in tang price range was pretty puny and weak. I went with the gravely 42" for 2700 and haven't regretted it one bit. I've always heard don't buy one from a box store but idk if that means stines too.

2 hoses.

Jose on the push mower.
Hose B on the trimmer.

Push mowers are $100.

Hustler Fastrack 48" is around $6K and you can get 0% on it for 36 months through Sheffield Financial

The Fastrack 48: SD is $6700 or so.

Same people that make Hustler also now make Big Dow Mowers. Same exact specs and everything though so might as well get the name people know in Hustler in case you ever sell it.

There have been people unloading some Scags on LA Sportsman and Facebook FYI. Just don't get the lower two model Scags. They have bushings in the front wheels instead of bearings. The bushings go bad over time. Same with most Gravely mowers. Bushings instead of bearings.

ETA: Just saw your price range. Sorry

42" bad boy for $2999. Welded deck and overall good mower for what it sounds like you need.

I didn't realize the hustlers were that high.

I guess I'll have to mark them off my list

I can barely justify buying a ZTR instead of a lawn tractor, so I know I don't need anything commercial quality

All welded decks are going to do just fine unless you are doing commercial work and you keep water from the top of them. Stamped decks are what you do not want.

You will when it's time to replace the bushings. Hustler has bearings in all models even the residential line. Others do not until you get into the commercial models.

Price range will get you a cub cadet. Very satisfied with it. Cut 3-4 acres in about 3 hrs. I have a lot of trees and shrubs.

You can get the Raptor 42" for $2700 or the Raptor SD 48" for $4K. They don't make a 48" in the just the Raptor. With 0% for 3 years that's like $80 to $110 per month.

Ok, that raptor for 2700 is basically what I need

I don't think having a stamped deck is a deal breaker for me because I'm mowing a level lot with very few obstacles, but having a welded deck would be a nice bonus either way.

The Raptor is a welded deck. All Hustler mowers have welded decks.

ETA: This is important and many people look over it

Front Axle: Fabricated w/ sealed ball bearings

Front Caster Wheels: Commercial duty steel roller bearings, greasable

Yeah I know

Just saying I wouldn't base my decision solely on welded vs stamped, though it is a big selling point

The cub cadets impressed me when looking at them at TSC the other day.

Seems like all of the mowers are made by MTD or another company and just rebranded
