It's convenient for sure.

You will fill it up though, so whatever size you think you need, go bigger.

What's wrong with the John Deere ones? My old man has one and it seems pretty nice.

Their ZTRs are as pricey as their tractors is the issue I see. For what a John Deere runs, you could get a nice Scag.

Croacka,
Everyone is giving you advice on mowers that are 3k.

WHat the hell are you cutting? Is this just for your yard? Are you cutting through tough shite? Are there many obstacles to go around?

What I'm getting at is do you need a ZTR, or you just want a ZTR?

i don't mind scags. But the Deere's i've been on just felt way more refined.

I ended up buying a used exmark today.

Deal was better for me than buying a new one.

Thanks for all the opinions though.

I'd go low end commercial instead of residential grade.

It's got very few hours and I got a good deal on it

If I'm not pleased with it, I can most likely get back what i paid for it

I'm cutting 1.5 acres of flat yard. I don't need much

after several months of research, i pulled the trigger on a Toro Timecutter 5060 about 3 years ago. It has a 23 HP Kawasaki on it. My father in law bought the same mower a few months later. We both cut a little over an acre, however he has way more trees than i do. I keep my yard like a putting green and have very few trees. My mower hasn't missed a beat. Zero issues. I have only changed the oil and filter, belt (due to user error), and the battery in Nov 2015, after a couple of years of use. It has never bogged down or died at any point. I said all that to say, it's a great mower that i would highly recommend. i have heard that Kawasaki has gotten out of the small engine industry because they could not keep up with demand. I think all you can get on the Toro is the Kohler, unless you find a new old stock with the Kawasaki. Maybe i'm wrong about that. Take it all for what it is worth. Happy mowing.

Scags are the shite but you won't find one that size for the price he's wanting to spend.

All welded decks . . . Stamped decks are what you do not want.

This depends only on what it is stamped or welded out of. A stamped 3/16" deck will never give you any trouble. A welded 16 gauge deck wouldn't last long if it got any abuse at all.
