Chicot state park. You have to book online and they go fast so get to it. You won't regret, it's a beautiful place. While there, stop in at Shops meat market, the boudin is delicious

Natchez State Park is nice if you like fishing. Cabins are on the lake, and it is beautiful.

Thanks for feedback. Anyone been to South Toledo Bend State Park? Wondered if it was worth the extra drive?

My family spent a week up there five years ago. It's a great spot for fishing and golf. The cabins are pretty sweet too.

It's not on the state park but this old hippie lady runs a camp site about a mile down the road from tunica hills. It's pretty cool if you're into hiking.

https://www.tunicahillscampground.com/

quote:

Our newly opened campground in the beautiful Tunica Hills area NW of St. Francisville, La was developed to give hikers, bikers and nature-lovers an opportunity to camp in a pristine, century-old hardwood forest in the heart of the Tunica Hills. Unlike other campgrounds, we've taken great pains to leave this beautiful site as natural as possible for the enjoyment of our guests; we've also labeled trees & plants to educate our guests about the unique flora & fauna of the Tunica Hills. The campground is adjacent to one of two Tunica Hills Wildlife Management Areas and is near the Clark Creek Natural Area (Tunica Hills Waterfalls) that draw so many city dwellers to this area for recreation.
The campground consists of tentpads tucked into the forest; most with electricity, all with picnic table & cooking grill, as well as 2 larger firepits for bonfires. There's also a covered dining pavillion equipped with BBQ grill, counters, water, electricity & picnic tables for group cooking or just taking shelter from a rainshower. Bathroom facilities are Porta-Pottys & a shower- with hot water! The newest phase of construction consists of small A-frame cabins offering a comfortable bed, air conditioning & heater, a small microwave & coffeemaker. We also have a fully-equipped 2 bedroom cabin available for rent, as well as 1 RV space with full hookups next to the cabin that can be rented in conjunction with the cabin.
