All names have been removed to protect online identities and not to violate any HIPPA laws.

No names shall be posted as we want to continue to protect their identity and privacy (and not have this thread anchored or deleted).

Kudos to this person for making all of more aware via Facebook. Now it's up to each and every one of you that reads this message to help start and make a difference.

Please feel free to contribute your ideas on how we can help them. A close friend of mine hopes to make a post letting this person know what steps she should take. No one should have to live like this.

And keep it positive. Here is my contribution:

I'm not sure. This person did not share that.

But that's not the point.

The lack of resources is the point.

All of us could do better to help. And it all starts with YOU!

Just so happens that I know for a fact that LSU psychiatric residency program on Essen sees kids for next to nothing. She's full of shite and a drama queen.

And to the OP, you've got a very unhealthy obsession with people's Facebook pages. Could I suggest the LSU psychiatric residency program on Essen?

You are obsessed though. You follow 3 people religiously, probably checking their FBs 100 times a day... and then you share it here. Why?

What is the waiting period to get in?

This thread was truly meant to help this person or people in general.

Too many down votes and replies that redirect the spirit of this message are quite distracting.

I'm going to guess this is speech, physical, and occupational therapy...not psyc.

If its the former 3, there's programs like Early Steps and clinics like McMains that work with patients having financial difficulties.

No it wasn't. You can ask for help for a friend in a MUCH more genuine way. GTFO.

When has a thread on the OT ever helped anything?

Plenty of times. Unfortunately, this is not one of those instances.

Tough crowd today.

Not sure, why not call them?

I agree that we as a country fail to provide mental health services to those in need, but I don't think this post was intended to start a dialogue about public mental health.

That's the problem with text messages and written communication. You can't always tell someone's intent by reading it.

It's not what you say. It's how you say it.

And that apparently got lost in translation here.
