Rating Engineering/Science programs in LA

I read over all the comments to the Career Fair thread.
I generally have been laying off thread creation...but I need to say this.
LSU Engineering > SU Engineering
As far as most companies are concerned :
SU engineering = LaTech engineering = all other engineering programs in LA.
ETA: I am mostly doing this for comedy, but I do feel this way

Engineering is different in the program and what it offers.
LaTech Engineering = LSU Engineering for quality of program, although each offers specializations.

Unless you're talking Computer Science. ULL is the top of that chart by a mile. That said, administration there apparently sees this as a bad thing and is doing as much as possible to completely ruin all of its credibility as a department.
First student ACM chapter, one of the first CS programs anywhere, and all sorts of neat little things that they could pitch to the new generation interest in CS. Instead, they're battling with the faculty beloved by the students causing most of them to leave or retire, chasing off prospective professors who have notable work on decent projects from replacing them, and lowering the difficulty of the program to "raise the numbers".
If LSU uses that IBM money to really try to improve, they'll probably move up the ladder.

I am not one to try and say LSU is the best just because I went there, but I also know anyone stressing any other university in LA is talking out of their arse.
First, I seriously doubt anyone posting attended more than one school. Second, I don't know of any published rankings showing huge disparities anywhere.
