People putting children over spouse will probably be getting divorced once the kids leave the nest

This makes zero sense.

Your spouse is supposed to be #1 IMO.. although society has kinda warped that.

I'm not religious and don't care, but if you are, I'm pretty sure the Christian faith puts spouse first.

In general, I'd say:

-Children
-Spouse
-Siblings + Parents + Nephews and Nieces
-Grandparents
-Cousins
-Aunts and Uncles

But I have a couple of cousins that I'm very close with so they're almost like siblings, but then I also have cousins that I barely see, so in reality it depends on the particular people in question.

If you choose to bring a person into the world, I think they are a bigger responsibility than any other relationship you can have with a person. Listing your kids as most important doesn't mean that you neglect your spouse in favor of your children or that you love your children more than your spouse. It just means that you have a greater responsibility to them, at least while they are still children.

i understand your viewpoint.

i just think the relationship that worked to create the children is more important.

the theory being that if your relationship between you and your spouse is most important, then the 2 of you will work together to raise your children properly and in a caring home.

which one is the one that you will see, sleep next to, live with until the day you die?
