It's next to a large police station so it's safe.

We played most of our games at Lawson (the one by the tracks, I thinks that's Lawson) and Wentwood.
Westgate was nice when I was younger, but I think in Kenner Bertilino is best for Football and Wentwood or Woodlake for baseball.

Both have nice red clay infields.

yeah west University city has gotten really sketchy. The east side is okay but starting to go down.
Sad to see, was a fun area to grow up.

they and greenlawn hardly existed back when i played. they almost always combined the two and just named them either highway or greenlawn.

Wentwood!

In my age group we were always solid in football. Good times.

I don't ever remember playing a game at Lincoln at night, did play almost a whole season of baseball at buddy Lawson's shitty field.

Played football at Susan Park in the late 70's early 80's. Was a great park. My parents car got vandalized when we played Lincoln. One of their coaches would beat the kids on the sideline with a switch.

I'm only 26 and I can go on for days on guys who played in college and some that went further that were fellow Vikes. However, I also played at Greenlawn (Lived between Vintage and Joe Yenni thank God) when I was young...as far as trashyness, strictly parents, JP parents only differ from Kenna Brah in the amount of time they can hold their trashyness back. Give a Miley, Jefferson, Cleary, Girard parent enough innings with a bad ref or an inconsistent ump and they will sound just as bad as parents from Wentwood and Greenlawn.

Lincoln Park had Joe McKnight when is played so they would have smoke anyone in JP in basketball, I would have lived fo see a Lincoln/Buddy Lawson/Burtolino vs JPRD football game, doh

Kenner has played JPRD many times. The all star football teams, Kenner eagles would always play JPRD bulldogs as the first games of the all star season.

This. Traditionally Highway Park ran shite. Not sure about now but back in the day Hwy Park was the best park.

Not sure why it would be that trashy now, the neighborhood isn't bad. It's just older people now who don't have park age kids.
