Moving very close to the under construction Walmart on Chef near Louisa St. I'm surprised they don't have a location near UNO. UNO just has Wendy's, Burger King, and Popeye's.

That Popeye's doesn't actually cook chicken so Cane's might succeed there.

How is Gentilly these days? I keep hearing people moving that way. Too soon? Few more years be fine?

It's pretty family-friendly. It's slowly coming back, so if you wait a few years, it'll be better but you will pay more. Please note that Lakeview which has gone astronomical is running out of land, so folks are beginning to move east esp. near the Greek Church and new Holy Cross school which is built like a small junior college. Pretty nice.

The over/under for criminal things happening weekly within 100 feet of the opened site is 17.5.

Cane's can't hold a candle to good old Chikfila. Not even close.

Nice. I welcome places like this. Indicative of a better scene coming to the area. Less hood. I guess I'm racist.

I'm surprised this area got a Cane's before Bullard which is nicer, all new facilities, landscaping, etc. (south of I-10 anyway)

That area of town is pretty busy during the day. I have a project in Gentilly Woods and the Louisa/Gentilly intersection gets a good bit of traffic.

Its actually a good location to make money.

If someone really wants to make money, build an applebees or chillis on Bullard in New Orleans East.

They must be looking at these four things:
1) SUNO students right down the road who frequent the fast food joints in that locale
2) Baptist Seminary students are walking distance.
3) The fast food joints in that area actually do good business (lack of competition in the extended area).
4) WALMART is coming.

I hope it works out. That area is an enigma to me. The Downman Rd and the Dwyer area is about as ghetto slum filthy looking as a place can be.
