We had one. Fake wood paneling with rear facing rear seat.

Chrysler product - a Dodge, I think.

My little brother would fight you for a spot in that rear seat.

IIRC the thing had a 400cid engine, 4 barrel carb and the speedo went to 150

I learned how to drive in a 1973 Impala wagon. Prior to that, we had a 1969 Ford Country Squire wagon. Both were awesome cars. They were the SUV of their generation.

We only had Cadillacs back then.
My uncle had a Vista Cruiser and several neighbors had the Country Squires & Caprice Wagons.
Those were good times going to LSU games etc piling up in the back.

we ironically had one called The Jewel. That thing was fast and comfortable as hell. My dad bought it off one of his tenants to help her out because she was moving to FL.

1957 Chevrolet Wagon - First time I ever drove it, I stopped to get gas and couldn't find where to put the gas in - it is in the right tail fin.

Had one of these babies, 1968 AMC Ambassador Wagon w/rear-facing back seat. Didn't last too long though: kept breaking down and my dad got rid of it. Probably what we would call a lemon nowadays -or just a shitty car.

We had one, but without the wood look trim. It was a Chrysler New Yorker. My dad built pipe organs and had to transport the pipes to the church where the organ was being built, so he needed a long vehicle for this.

I didn't but my best friend's family did. We rode in the rear facing seat 3 hours to the 1984 World's Fair. We called it the battle wagon.

Igloo ice chest doubled as a rear facing back seat for us kids except when we had to get up to grab another beer for the grownups.

We had one! Late 70s/early 80s. It was tan with the wood trim. We had the fold down seats in the back--3 sections: One faced the rear, and the other two faced one another. My cousins and friends loved those seats when we were 5-8.

...damn, I miss simple things like that.

rear facing back seat.

We had a 74 model, and then an 80 model. With the big shocks on those bad boys, and the weight shifted to the back, that rear facing seat well was a total vomit machine. I lived the first 10 years of my life with constant car sickness. And, the A/C wouldn't make it back that far on hot days. It was miserable.

When I was freshman in HS I rode in one of them to school everyday with my neighbor, actually 5 of us did.

Did you know those thing can go through a mud puddle that a 1 ton Chevy dually got stuck it?

Did you know that you can cut some bad arse donuts in it?

Did you know if your buddy sticks his arse against the windshield to moon someone the windshield may crack?

Did you know that you can catch air on the St. Louis Canal Road in Houma with it?

Did you know that you can fit 16 people in them after football practice and clean out Mr. Gatti Buffet?

Did you know I was sliding out of the backseat once before school and I tore my brand new Giraud on a piece of wire hanging out the backseat?

Did you know Alisha would let you play with her boobs if you let her take a few sips from your daquiri in the back seat?

I had some great times in my buddies Station Wagon.
