Yeah, it has always been that way. I mean, Algeria didn't become an independent state until recently

Meh - once the attack goes down, there is utter chaos.

maybe. But it seems like people in police gear running in the same direction as civilians would get attention.

a more sinister theory is they 'blend' in with the other cops during the chaos then begin shooting leading to all the cops shooting other cops because nobody knows who is who.

the sick twisted ideas these frickers come up.

That's what I thought. Not to get away, but to murder.

Make them feel like no place is safe. That they can get to you from anywhere

Barry will be on shortly to explain that the uniforms and launchers were just going to be used by the Syrian baws to help maintain order and calm during an attack by a right wing extremist Christian.

Hoof beats.

You're thinking zebras. Horses suggests they are going to try to get access to locked down areas in the immediate aftermath of the triggering event, just as they did in Paris.

Yeah, I don't think it is all that likely they dress up as cops pre-attack (but maybe) - more likely they do something like this - infiltrate a massive response and then try to slow it down for the next attack.

What I find interesting is that French authorities knew exactly where to go in four days, which suggests to me they have been sitting on information about what these people have been planning since well before the attacks.

It could be info obtained from call/email history on confiscated phones or computers.

I should add that I'm making a lot of assumptions. It could be that they gathered that information in the aftermath of the attacks, but that seems unlikely.

They have a starting point. And any clue they find or hint of a connection they'll use for a raid and obtaining more and on to the next one with more info gathered. Speed is key.

It certainly could be. It could be tips from other intelligence agencies in the wake of the tragedy or any of a bunch of other things, too (lojacking a co-conspirator or accessory, for instance). My suspicion is they had an idea of where to go before the attacks.

I don't know but I could have sworn I saw a headline that said Turkey had tried to warn them of an attack. I didn't read it, though.

They had to have warrants to do what they are doing now, which they could not obtain. They have enacted something like Marshall law, where they can go around and do whatever they want now
