Can your kids sign their name in script ?? My grand daughter is 12 and can not , that seems like a problem to me , ( i will be teaching her) . Im 57 and i have to sign my name quite often it seems . Script is no longer taught in school at all according to my grand daughter . Just curious. Also i kinda blame my son and his wife for this also , they assure me they will be addressing this , ill be watching with doubtful eyes.

Get off my lawn , lol.

They don’t teach it anymore. It’s more important to teach tolerance of transsexuals nowadays.

My signature definitely isn’t cursive. Idk what I’d even call it.

I don't care if my kids ever learn cursive... not necessary anymore.

While we're at it, can we eliminate the letter C and X from the alphabet?

My daughter is 13. She went to a private Christian school before I started homeschooling her. She learned cursive in first grade.

My son went through fourth grade at public school before being homeschooled…I taught him cursive.

Cursive is only useful for signing your name.

I'm more concerned with them being able to write well in print. They use computers and tablets so much for school my son's handwriting sucks in general.

Cursive writing is about as useful for a 15 year old as the ability to change your horse’s horseshoe. You can e-sign for everything including a mortgage.

my older two kids were taught cursive enough to sign names in 3rd grade(they are 4th & 6th now) but other than a signature its a waste of time to teach them that. rather them focus on way more important things than learning a skill that is outdated and not even used anymroe.

im 40 and other than signing my name i havent used cursive writing in 20 years. and hell 90% of the time when i am signing something its using an electronic signature now.

you are way way overthinking this

but tell us why you think its important

They teach it in second grade here for some reason. It’s totally useless but yes my 7 yo can write his name in cursive.

Anyone else just use squiggly line after checkout at the sto’?

The issue isn’t necessarily writing in cursive, it’ll be a problem within a generation or 2. The majority won’t be able to read cursive from old texts, and will have to trust those who can read it are honest in translation.
