I don’t mean splash around in a tub with bubbles…I mean clean their bodies, hair, etc properly with soap and water, rinse, dry off, etc. and with no parental assistance….only oversight at most.

Help settle a dispute between the Mrs and I for our first…

5-8 according to Google. I’d say probably 6-7 trusting them to go do it themselves properly starting to take showers.

My oldest is 8 and she started showering by herself @ 6.

Every once in a while she gets out after "washing her hair" and its dry on top. But she does a good job. I mean, she at least doesn't smell like low tide, so that's all I care about.

My 8 year old has been doing it for a couple years. But we still have to go back every few months and show him what actually cleaning himself entails.

Joe Biden was still getting in the shower with and washing Ashley Biden when she was 11, so don’t ask him.

It honestly depends on the child. We have 5 boys from ages 20 down to 2. Our 3 oldest all did this at different ages. Typically between the ages of 6-7 is where we experienced it. Our 8 year old was the first to shower independently. The others have done the bath setup longer than him. We have a 4 year old that already showers about 85% independently.

They are all different, so don't sweat the details just enjoy them, they all run at a different pace in life

My 7 y/o can kind of do it. I mean you still have to remind him to stop playing with it and wash up, but he knows how.

Do you have a tub and some dogs?

Drop them in the tub and soak
Put them on a beach towel and let the dogs do the cleaning

My 8 year old has been capable of it for a while now, but she’s very ocd about bathing.

My 10 year old on the other hand still doesn’t know how to, but he’s a boy so that comes with the territory.
