Do not start in pharma.. It's really not a great background if you want into medical device. Which..I can tell you that you won't want to be in pharma.
Work for a small or regional DME to help boost you into medical device for a manufacturer. Our Dallas guy had an awesome DME rep for a year before my company scooped him up and moved him into an open territory in another region.

Well, we know Scruffy isn't a surgeon; we'd never ever need to ask.
Congrats, Scruffy. I used to work in academics in a big med school / teaching hospital. Please be one of the good ones.
