Talking about major universities, not u of Phoenix or some bs. I see a lot about UF, ASU & PSU.

Question: what hands on things? Like internships. Is the program designed to waive those requirements?

I did a practicum in mine. I did it at my current place of employment as I was just assigned a new job.

Just look at what/where you are interested. The course requirements will be posted.

I'm a bit skeptical. I know someone getting a mechanical engineering degree without ever sitting in a classroom or meeting with an instructor. I just can't wrap my brain around that.

I earned my degrees the old fashioned way. I even opted against the EMBA route in favor of a traditional program. At the time, I was basically betting that colleges would start cranking out distance learning degrees, especially as more companies were adding tuition reimbursement to their benefits packages. I noticed how when TOPS first hit, hiring managers started paying more attention to where you went to school and what your grades were since everyone suddenly had a degree. With the emergence of distance learning programs, I believed the same thing would happen. The distance learning degrees would be given less weight. I'm not sure if there is any evidence of that yet, but I still believe it.

Unless it is an accredited school, you should be. I did mine through a well known institution. I could have even participated in the actual graduation ceremony with those that went the brick and mortar route. My degree and transcript looks just like someone's that went the brick and mortar route.

ASU is known to have one of the best online degree programs in the country. You cannot go wrong with them.

As for hands on stuff....will just depend on your degree program.

There is a poster that stalks all my posts and down votes each one. I'm flattered they spend so much time doing so

Look at my posts on the food board. I had over 15 downvotes on one post.

Some people on here have no lives.

What about entrance requirements? Same as the school normally has?

No, I bought in Central.

You may or may not have to do the GMAT or GRE for grad school. Depends on some variables.

Cool. Somebody finally bought that orange eye sore in oak alley. Must have dropped some coin remodeling. Looks really nice now

I did an advanced degree program through UF. It was the same curriculum as the on campus program, just in a shorter time span. I believe there were about 50 or so students and we met online once a week with the main instructor of each course. We were also subdivided by time zone into smaller groups and we met twice a week with a different instructor (he stayed with our group through the entire program).

With my particular degree, you had to have so many hours/years of clinical practice to even enroll. It was very convenient for me as I was already working full time but wanted a way to further my education. It is much more expensive than the on campus tuition though. And like someone else mentioned, we were invited to attend graduation as well.
