IB4 "Bullet costs 50cents" I live in town. Not shooting my dog.

But I have heard everything from $130-200 for euthanasia and cremating the remains.

Gonna suck regardless. This dog is the first joint project for the wife and I. She's 15 now.

I do not want a dead dogs corpse to bury even though it is a good discount. Digging a 4-5 foot hole in August is not happening.

Any info? Prices?

Katy/Houston area BTW.

Slit it's throat then.

Don't cremate or bury it. Put the body in the woods somewhere and let the scavengers eat it... circle of life.

Depending on the size of the dog 160$ sounds reasonable. Especially if you don't have to dig a hole in 102 degree weather.

I paid almost twice that but it was a 24-hour emergency vet hospital. I think $160 is about right for sure imo.

That's about right. That's what they charged us a few months ago when we had to put our Boxer down. It was an extra $200 to get the remains back in a nice wooden box (she wanted it so what can ya do?). We paid around $350 total, so yeah, about the same.

Call round. You should be looking at a hundo tops to kill and dispose of the dog.

Oh yeah, prayers and thoughts to you and yours in this difficult time.

Just because you are bereaved doesn't mean you are saps!

seems you've answered your own questions. $160 is between the prices you got, right? you don't want to dispose of your pet yourself, right?

then pay the $160.00 and move on.

Damn.

Nothing like shelling out $160 so the wife and I can cry.

Good times.

So drive it out to the country. Give it a nice last trip, a good last meal, and do your duty.

I have no clue why people think paying a vet to poison your dog to death is somehow preferable to a clean headshot.

ETA: sorry about your dog. Do what's best for you.

I paid $60, but they put him in a box and I had to bury him.

$160 seems reasonable if they are both euthanizing and disposing of remains.
