How important is this to you?

It is important to me. It is not important to my wife.

That rarely turns out well.

You made a bad choice?

What do you want people to say here?

Glad you brought this up. My flight left the gate at 515pm in chicago, it is now an hour later and we have not gone anywhere due to deicing. How do you think i feel about punctuality right now?

Early is on time
On time is late
Late is Unacceptable

Write that down.

My boss is ALWAYS late for meetings.

These days if she schedules a meeting, I show up about 15 min late every time and still beat her by 5 or 10 minutes.

It is a pain in the arse. Makes it really hard to plan your day.

If I'm not going to be 10 minutes early, I don't bother going. The SAME people are late to church every week.

I would rather be 3 hours early to a meeting than 1 minute late. Habitual tardiness is a symptom of thoughtlessness and indifference, at least in the business world I inhabited. This is also true outside of business in one's personal affairs.

Grew up always being late.

Now I'm either early or on time. Can't stand it when people aren't dependable

If you're right on time you're late. I hate people who are late. It's a frickin power move and it pisses me off.

Pop always instilled in me that 'on time' means being there 15 minutes before the agreed upon time. A tremendous boon to me when I worked for others, but sadly leading to a great deal of frustration with poonanner and fellow dope fiends, both of whom are awful at temporal tidiness.

To tie this in to the tailgater thread (gee, I love alliteration), people who tailgate and who will beat the front end off their '95 Maxima on a blacktop road because they are habitually late have a date with Charles Darwin.
