They are working on using MRI technology to tell you what movie you're remembering. Stanford Research Institute is correct. It's an independent R&D group formerly affiliated with Stanford University, but now operates independently. One of the many things they have done is conduct remote viewing experiments for the CIA and DoD.

IIRC they had some notable successes, including locate a new Soviet missile facility, and helping find a US general kidnapped by Italian terrorists in the 1980's. Getting consistent results was a problem, and the research "officially" ended, although they're probably still working on it.
