I would imagine they are losing customers at a pretty high rate. The main benefits of satellite radio are it follows you on long drives and has limited commercials. Any car that can connect a smart phone to it can duplicate that functionality for free.

I only have it(other than it's $5/month) because the ease of use can't really be duplicated on a phone app that I've found as of yet.

Switching between favorite songs or channels is much easier on XM on my car's dash than it is through Spotify, Google Play, or whatever phone app is out there.

And the talk shows I mostly listen to like Stern and a few others?

I just got my 6 months for $30 offer in the mail yesterday.

Probably still won't renew. I only listen to 3-4 stations and I have found Spotify playlists that are based off those stations. No need for the radio stations anymore.

I totally forgot to do this a couple months ago and got charged $20 for a couple months after the promotion period ended.

Just called them up and did the whole "too expensive" song an dance and got the $30 for 5 months reinstated. Thanks OP!

I could honestly do without it, but for $5 a month, it's nice to have as an option.

Not quite. They are actually growing at a pretty nice pace. I rarely use my satellite radio to listen to music. I do use it for long road trips to listen to sports, Howard stern, the comedy channels, the news channels.

I do listen to a lot of podcasts, but you don’t always have a reliable network on the road
