I bought a prep book from Barnes and Noble when I was in the 11th grade and knew it front and back. I made a 31.

This 100%

If your kid cant learn to teach and prepare himself then you're not helping him prepare for the real world.

But seriously I know we all want our kids to get into the best schools etc but if they can't earn it on their own you're setting them up for failure.

Teach him how to self motivate and teach himself it will pay off way more long term than any prep service. Learning to learn is tough skill to acquire

That skill set will prepare him for college and future jobs to put himself head and shoulders above his peers

I went to Jesuit--so I didn't need supplemental ACT prep...

That's about an ignorant a statement as possible.

They both have different focuses on their material the ACT being heavily math oriented and good if his son wants to pursue something like engineering.

Only prep I ever did was a practice test and I made a 29. The classes are stupid and teach basic things like FOIL method so it is truly a waste of money.
