Guy I worked with had a kid at 19 and his wife was 18. He knocked her up again 2 years later. The good thing is they were done raising kids in their 40's and have the rest of their lives to frick off without younguns.

My last one is moving out this summer before I turn 47...

We are starting to see the results of societies addicted to porn. Kids know what sex is and looks like younger than ever before. The politicians trying to put more regulations on the porn industry are not as crazy as people think.

Did I read correctly that this girl's mom (and new grandma) is 27? If that's the case, then she had her daughter at 14 or 15, so the apple appears not to have fallen far from the tree.

I think the worst factors are ignorance and poor socioeconomic condition. The U.S. is hardly a third-world country, yet it leads the developed world in teenage pregnancies. The U.K. is a close second, though they likely don't have nearly as much of a problem with minority teenage pregnancy, which is the majority of cases. LINK

True. I wouldn't be surprised if a 9 year old knew what sex was today, with all the resources at our hands.

When I have a child I will make sure to monitor what they can and can't see on the internet.

That kid is not going to college

In the UK you need money to do that or be very very smart.

Erm no you dont.

Part of the problem and a major benefit of the fees going up is that anybody and everybody can/could get a degree.

There have been universities accepting students with DD at A Level(the equivalent of a 2.0-2.3 GPA over just 2 subjects), and you get student loans to pay for everything which you don't need to start paying back until you starting earning a certain amount.
