i encountered almost this exact scene years ago while working motor patrol in south LA. only difference is husband was underneath the car and it was an infant in the backseat hidden under a pile of garbage

WTH? How can anyone stoop to that crap?
How about doing us all a favor and just jumping off a bridge? Gets to the end result a whole lot quicker and doesn't ruin as many lives along the way.

unfortunately that probably won't happen. the kid will be put in a foster home and their parents will be given chance after chance after chance to change their ways.
the kid will bounce around a good bit probably between foster homes but maybe a stint with the parents and end up in a group home . kids going to have a rough life.
the sad part is there are families that would love to adopt this kid, but they aren't going to wait until he is 11 to do so.

While tailgating last year I would walk around campus and see so many people that looked the same way in chairs. So sad. I didn't realize so many people were doing heroin tailgating at lsu
