What's the big deal? Apparently you'll have access to company secrets or proprietary information and they just want to make sure you keep that information confidential.

Nah. It can be a big deal. Companies are making more and more people sign these, regardless of their access to proprietary or confidential information. They also sneak in other provisions such as non-competes, non-solicits, etc. You should not sign something that you do not understand.

Sign it, learn of the responsibilities, and then come back and tell us what they are so we can help you decide whether to take the position or not.

Sign and say whatever you want. Tell them you thought it was a 'disclosure agreement.' Ignorance in 9/10ths of the law

I dont think you're getting this job, signed NDA or not.

They just want to make sure you don't get on a message board and talk about their company.

.. Which obviously is going to happen.

...... And then they will sue you.

This means there is a possibility in the interview process they will ask you questions that may involve their intellectual property or proprietary systems.

Or you may find a document in the bathroom with shite on it when on the face to face.

As long as you only post what you learn anonymously on the OT, the terms of the NDA won't be violated.

Haven't you recently complained about being broke (and having a fat wife - 2 bags of chips and rice pudding in one sitting thread)? An NDA is the least of your problems.
I'm 100% certain that this job does not pay "a frick ton."

I am not a lawyer, but I have a high level of business savvy.

The NDA serves one purpose: to prevent you from disclosing confidential information obtained during the application process.

I am well known in business for my ability to keep a secret, so I have never had to sign one.

This is nothing unusual.

Define a frick ton because I think you and I have different definitions of what it is.
