Disagree with you on both counts. But it looks like you have an axe to grind.

Depends on what you're into. How important is nightlife to you?

It's been developed quite a bit over the past ten years, not nearly as boring as it used to be. I was just there last weekend, the new brewery district is actually legit.

If you have a friend base in austin, I would just live on the north side of SA and drive up for the weekends when you feel like it

I lived there Mon-Thurs for a year and found it to be pretty awful to be honest. I assume that there is more to do on the weekends, and there are definitely some bright spots, but overall it's a shite hole. If you're going to be focused on work and it's a good career move you'll be able to make it work.

North side schools are pretty darn good...

But OP is single right?

Also, SA is confirmed not the best city in TX. You have no credibility if you say that. Or really shitty taste.

if you are Mexican, they may be ok.

otherwise, have fun with your child constantly being harassed for being white.

Right, not a great city for late 30's and single. Lots of latina women who want to marry a professional guy and pop out multiple kids but not a ton of quality from what I recall. Your best bet would be trolling for divorced milfs in the Stone Oak area.

Not for paying property tax is it best bet.

I live in between Austin and San Antone. I'm 30 minutes from downtown S.A. and about 55 minutes to SW Austin.

I live in the Hill Country now after living in Houston for 14 years.
For a family and a relaxed life this area wins easily.

I can be hunting and tubing on the Guadalupe in 5 minutes.

Frick the big city life.

Yes...accept the job and move to SAT.
First class with deep pockets.
Look for housing around the Rim/La Cantera.
Your potential employer has some very nice apts in the area.

If Mexico didn't have nice beaches and water, it would be called San Antonio.

It's the largest city in the world where there's not shite to do. It sucks and I hate it.
