They just did a complete overhaul 2 years ago and Toyota won’t refresh it for another 5 years

They should have put a little more effort into that IMO.

I know so many people that sold their 2009 Toyota Corollas because of issues they had later on after thinking it was a Toyota and will never have problems. I always bought the later year models of whatever generation it was because they had perfected it compared to that first year model.

I'm hoping they update the Tundra soon.

They're only in year 3 of this body style, so it may be a while. My issue isn't the styling, but the turbo V6. If it still had the 5.7 I'd probably go buy one.

Fantastic trucks. Maybe the best GM has ever made.

I had an '04. Bought it off of the lot brand new. I had that truck 13 years and it was 800 miles shy of 300K when the tranny finally gave up the ghost. I should have just paid to get it fixed instead of selling it. I'd probably still have it. I loved that truck.

New powertrain, body, interior, and new packages. What else do you want them to do, change it up every 2 years like Ford, GM or Chevy and take away more equity from your vehicle?

There are a lot of bad design decisions with the new one.

It's not just that it's ugly (it's hideous), but it lacks some basic features that the competitors have, seems to have build quality issues, and yeah...the twin turbo V6 is not likely to last as long as their NA V8.

I much prefer the design of the new Tacoma. And frankly their Lexus GX is a knockout. I'm not sure about the new Land Cruiser to be honest.

The new Colorado is very good.

Also has a turbo I-4 engine, but it's a larger displacement setup that's been used in the Silverado for 4-5 years now. I've heard good things but I'm skeptical of any turbo I-4 like that.

Kind of surprised that GM put that much effort into a smaller pickup.

If Toyota falls then we are doomed.

Buuuut, I don't trust youtubers where their revenue is tied to how many views they get. What makes a more popular video, tacoma has catastrophic failure or tacoma performs about as expected for a mid-sized 4wd pickup?

Eta, if this is an actual thing, then those problems are going to be very apparent among the new tacos. Spinning on slippery rocks isn't all the much strain on a drivetrain.

I’m sure a related video was how much some YouTuber loves his new Tacoma. I’m sure there are great reviews 11 miles into ownership

Late 90's to Great Recession had the most number of the most reliable vehicles ever made. You could buy just about anything in that range and it would be a winner.

Just don't make the mistake of thinking because a model was good then, its good now. Outside of the namesake, 2024's are significantly different vehicles.

Toyota dealerships have service departments like every other dealership.

Sorry your worshipping will take a hit.

I know the I-6’s were good when maintained. But I don’t know anything about the I-5.

I love a Tacoma but if they don’t get this straight, it’ll head south quickly for what is the easy premium and reliable mid size truck. How many rangers you see out their these days..
