I do that anyway.

I haven't been to confession since I was a kid.

The rules are different during a pandemic. Once this blows over god will expect you to go back into a small vestibule and tell another human all about the bad things you’ve done.

But, isn't this gonna screw his indulgences racket?

Not my Pope.

It's such BS that they think you need to go through some human anyways. Just trying to control the masses better

I support this idea but this is also absolute proof that this pope is trying to destroy our faith. Pretty much just destroyed a sacrament

The pope said his response would be, “Do what the Catechism (of the Catholic Church) says. It is very clear: If you cannot find a priest to confess to, speak directly with God, your father, and tell him the truth. Say, ‘Lord, I did this, this, this. Forgive me,’ and ask for pardon with all your heart.”

This is nothing new. The Catechism of the Catholic Church outlines the specifics of the Sacrament of Confession when there is not the ability to access a Priest.

And "not the ability to access a Priest" doesn't mean too lazy, inconvenient times/availability of the Sacrament. It's for situations like this, or Catholics who are in countries that don't have Priests due to government intervention.

Im catholic and think churches are bullshite. People can be spiritual anywhere they want and not have to give money to some greedy organization.

You aren't Catholic.

You might have been baptized Catholic. But you aren't Catholic.
