How many ants do you think have ever lived?

Yes, yes, a lot. Thanks.

I would guess 50 quadrillion.

This gets you close to the answer you are looking for:

If you take the mass of all the humans in the world, and the mass of all the ants in the world, the mass would be the same.

Suppose there are 100,000,000,000,000,000 ants alive now.

The lifespan of an ant is say 4 weeks. So that times 12 months is 12 with 15 zeros times 20 billion years is 12 with 35 zero.

That's the best I've got.

You lost me.

The Earth is only 4.6 billion years old. Plus, scientists estimate that ants are only about 92 million years-old.

You'd have to know how long they have been as dominant as they are today. How widespread were they? Did ice ages severely reduce their numbers multiple times?

One wonders

Dinosours were alive 200 million plus years ago. I would think ants have been around a he'll of a lot longer than dinos. You are correct about the age of earth though.

I'm going to go with n ants.

1 < n < Infinity

Where n equals the total number of ants which have ever existed on the Earth.
