I live inside the loop and love it. Everything you might want to do is just around the corner. Besides the fact that there are few mature trees in Plano, the difference is that Plano is all-in suburbia. Reminds me of that old Matt Dillon movie Over the Edge.

Have a relative who lives in Plano and commutes to downtown Dallas for work. The obvious biggest drawback is the drive to work. Other than that Plano is much less hectic and has everything you need.

LINK
apparently it is "not really Preston Hollow to the locals" whatever that means, but whatever you want to call it, I'd bet it is a better place to live than the Yankee suburbs

I live right off of Greenville near the Trader Joes and honestly couldn't imagine living that freaking far North.

I guess if you have a family that's different, but damn, I just don't know what the hell people would go up there for aside from I guess work?

Y'all some damn liars about your fricking commutes. Takes me 15-20 to get from my office at Preston Center to my apartment near Cityplace.

There is no way in hell you're getting Uptown to McKinney in 20 minutes, much less with rush hour traffic. No fricking way.

You missed the part where I never said I lived in Uptown lol.

I live off of Frankford Rd. It takes me 17 min down Bush to get to 114 in Las Colinas where I work. I takes me the same to get to McKinney using DNT > SRT.

I've had the same commutes as 50_Tiger. I live 2 exits north of him and have worked in Irving and Downtown Dallas. He's accurate about how long it takes to get there.

I now work in Richardson and most days it only takes about 10 minutes to get there.

When you get on GBT at 9:00 am maybe.

From the time your crank your car to the time it takes you to even merge onto GBT take you at least 8-10 minutes alone during rush.

And I would bet you $1,000.00 tomorrow you can't leave your parking spot at AG and make it to McKinney/75@121 in 17 minutes at, say 5:30 PM for a happy hour. frick that, $10,000 at speed limit. Impossible.

It's in a terrible school district. If you can't afford private school, defeats the purpose of living there.
