I would say it's still not fully broken in, but yeah 1Q is a big go-to.

I would start with a $30 briar.

I would recommend a quality estate pipe over a $30 basket briar pipe.

I primarily buy estate pipes from either ebay or pipe stores, and it's a great way to get a quality pipe that's already "broken in."

My smoothest smoking pipe is an estate Irwin (factory second GBD).

If you are ever in Jackson, MS check out the Country Squire. They have some awesome house blends.

I just got done smoking a bowl of Dunhill Nightcap in my Dunhill bent billiard.

Nightcap is awesome if you like English Blends.

I love nightcap.

Check out royal yacht if you haven't, it'll knock you on your arse with nicotine but it's legit.

This seems to be pretty common (and solid) advice everywhere I have looked You can usually find them pretty cheap too.

What's the best site for buying tobacco online?

A quick local search turns out most drug para stores and no one that actually sells pipe or tobacco

Any links for a good beginner pipe? I know you all sad estates, but they don't seem very discounted at all, atleast via the sites listed

Tried it a couple of times. Could never keep the damn thing lit. Few aromas are as awesome as cavendish tobacco.

You tamp it, light it, tamp it again, and then re-light. It ought to work just fine.

Pipe smoking seems to be something that has been out of vogue for a long time. I have a collection of pipes and enjoyed it while we had decent tobacco stores around that had a variety of pipe tobaccos.

I've purchased from this ebay seller before, and he has good, clean estate pipes:

I would search for estate "seconds" which have minor imperfections but generally don't affect the performance.

For instance, this "Hardcastle" is a Dunhill "second" and would be good for a beginner:

Appreciate it, I had actually just scrolled through the ebay Dunhill, and that was the only one that had caught my eye at a reasonable beginner price.

Went ahead and grabbed it though, so thanks again for the reassurance.

No not really.

Like I was saying earlier, I almost exclusively smoke a 50/50 blend of Prince Albert and Cherry Cavendish.

It smells nice and smokes good with no bite.

When I was a kid every Sunday at church a man would smoke a pipe in church, I always loved the smell.
