Just to collect the $10 billion, I would buy 3 houses for under $4599 total in some Third World country where it's possible to buy such cheap homes

Manhattan, NY. USA.
Lyon, France.

Somewhere in the mountains in Japan. Would want to do significantly more on the ground research before deciding exactly where.

And I haven't finished my coffee yet, so you don't get reasons.

Do I get to keep the leftover money that I don't spend on the houses? If so:

San Diego near Pacific or Ocean Beach

On a lake in Eagle River, WI

Rancho Cucamonga, CA at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains

All of the locations are near family and recreational activities we enjoy. They also allow me to have a lot of the $10B leftover for fun stuff.

Never heard of it, but now that I know it’s the Smokies of NC, it makes sense. Beautiful.

Not sure where I would choose internationally, but Florence would likely be one pick.

If just the U.S., it would probably be New Orleans, San Diego, and the third would either be Chicago or a ski town in Summit County, Colorado (Dillon, Breckinridge, Frisco, etc)

If I have to buy the houses with my own funds before I can collect, then I'm buying the three cheapest dumps I can find.

One I have the $10B I'll buying property in Tahoe, Kauai, Singapore, Switzerland, Japan, Italy, Brazil, Australia, etc.
