When did you move and did you change your address appropriately?

Once you realize that there is nothing that can do but *maybe* boot your car if they catch it on the public streets...

No collection agencies, no credit bureau reporting, nothing...

Well Mr. Speedy Gonzalez, you should have used that white knuckle attitude to pay that ticket. I think a reckless driving should have been tacked on.

my dad has a vehicle that his employee drives and she's gotten two of these tickets. i watched the video and it's so nitpicky.. it's like going 5 mph over the speed limit.

the problem is my dad keeps being responsible for the ticket, whereas if an actual officer pulled her over.. she would get the ticket.. you know.. for being the driver.. this is what upsets me.. my dad is responsible for paying her driving ticket, and on the video you can't even make out who is driving, but we know it was her because of the time stamp.

it sucks, because even though we know it was her.. my dad isn't going to hold her responsible. because he's a nice guy..

i've heard that some courts won't recognize photo enforced tickets because of a few reasons.. one mainly because you didn't sign off on it or even decline to sign for it.. so some courts won't recognize it. idk. i think it's bogus because they hold the owner responsible.. and you can't always tell who was responsible behind the wheel..

The follow up documents notifying me of my "unfortunate" $75 fine threaten potential "court action against you, immobilization of your vehicle (booting), and/or reporting the debt to a collection agency."

Is this a bluff? How are they going to proceed with court action when they are claiming that I forfeited my right to contest the ticket by not mailing them $30 and a notice of dispute within 24 days? These SOB's are out of their damn minds.

this is what i'm talking about. some courts say they just threaten you with intimidation.. but can't really take you to court over it.

i rather just pay it though and not risk it..

it's frustrating because now these tickets are like 65$ or so.. they use to just be like $25..

wtf..

Definitely a legal factor for dismissal

it gets me because in florida i have a friend who you can clearly make out who is driving from the front cam..

in louisiana everything looks great except for the front view of the video. it is completely grainy/blacked out.. there is no way to determine anything..

the person driving should be responsible.. and with multiple drivers it can be difficult to determine this.

i wouldn't be so against these photo tickets if they weren't so much money. it was more understandable when it was like $25.. now they are just getting greedy.

No different than a parking ticket. No one signs for those. Goes to the owner of the vehicle.

Sounds like you have racked up a few photo-enforced tickets.

45 mph is bullshite. 55 is too.

And a Speed limit on double lanes should always be 55-75. Let the slower traffic stay in the right.

Don't pay it. These kinds of tickets are unconstitutional.

I got one on Camellia in Lafayette.

It went unpaid and then went on my credit report.

I don't know if it is still on the credit report, nor do I care. I'm not paying a ticket I cannot fight.

The original ticket was to be paid to a Lafayette address. When it went past the due date, it was an Ohio collection agency.

I love to see the camera lights flash at College and I-10 when the Idiots try to beat the light. If only they could do that to the impatient idiots who block the box.

I hate those stupid tickets. I got two 100 dollar tickets last year and this year I got another one. I have paid for my tickets. But after reading this I am convinced to never pay them again.

The sad part is that before the 3rd ticket was sent to me, I drove VERY carefully around town, especially college drive

I swear its like they get you speeding at that one inconvenient time where you don't have a choice but to move a little faster or move out the way.

I paid one that I got in NOLA. 35 in a 45. It was $110, as much as I didn't want to lay it I did. I don't want the inconviencie of being booted in NOLA on a weekend.

One thing I've noticed is that everones ticket is for 10 over, what's the deal with that?

Did you get one at the I-10 and College light? Has anyone else here?

One more thing I forgot to mention that really pisses me off as well, is I received this ticket while traveling through Baker. The highway has a speed limit of 65 and then suddenly drops to 45, where of course they have these camera stations set up everywhere. Having them right around the area where the limit lowers 20 mph is basically a trap. From the picture on the ticket that looks to be exactly where I got popped, by the first camera station where the limit drops.

Sue the City of Baker for not having signs that warn you of a lower speed limit (like they do when exiting the Causeway Bridge.)
