I gotta pay a thousand bucks so a guy can paddle my arse and massage my nuts while I am forced to eat stale Dorritos out of a cats anus after reciting the frat pledge and writing the name of every senior brother in blood from the puppy I just killed by force feeding it booze for a week.

It varies from school to school, but the non-greeks where I went were pretty much the campus losers who never had any fun. I can understand it being different at a bigger school.
Either way, I think its funny that GDIs who are so secure in their choice to not rush feel the need to trash greek life at every single opportunity.

Also if you're paying for friends and you are in a fraternity for 4 years with a decent sized class. It's less than a buck a friend. Pretty solid.

Just out of curiosity. For the guys that say it's paying for friends.
If you go to a school where you don't know a lot of people, how do you go about making friends with random guys? Do you just go to the bar and talk to other guys to try to feel out their interests? That doesn't sound very appealing to me.

You pay to be able to hang out with a group of guys. Student section is student section. As long as you know someone in given frat you can get into any frat party without being in one. Girls don't care if you're in a fraternity or not if you happen to find one that does care then she a hoe. Although, I suppose the network connections could be pretty helpful later in life.
Overall, I don't regret not joining one at LSU
