How did the whole Santa thing work? Did Santa come while you were at church or something? Did you get presents on Christmas Eve and Christmas? How did it work?

I usually got to open one or two early. Santa presents typically showed up overnight.

Grandmother would take us upstairs. Grandmother would have us look out the window for Santa and Rudolph. Parents would hurry and put the presents out.

We were gullible. Yep.

Edited to add: Only kid presents were put out. Presents for aunts, uncles, etc. were already under the tree.

Always seemed lame. Ruins the buildup to Christmas morning.

We'd go to sleep on Christmas Eve with a tree with nothing under it and empty stockings hung off the mantle and awaken to presents and a full stocking.

Good times, thanks for making me reflect on it.

We opened wrapped presents from mom and dad on Christmas eve. Christmas morning, we woke up to our stuff from Santa.

As a kid, my parents used to say that XmasE gifts were from them. Instead of santa.

We didn't ever get presents on Christmas morning.

Our Santa came on the 24th.

Despite my parents efforts I never believed in Santa. I was a pretty logical child and wouldn't be convinced that one guy delivered presents all over the world in a single night. Let the downvotes rain

I work tomorrow so we did Christmas today with my kids. Of course with leap year coming up I'll work Christmas next year also. Really sucks, but kids had a blast today.

Try again for what? Christmas Eve is the 24th. Never got a present from Santa or anyone on Christmas a.m.

I got a gift from my grandma on Christmas Eve. Nothing was ever under the tree until Christmas morning from my parents. Everything was from Santa.

Never did the Christmas eve thing. Mt parents did an incredible job with the buildup and being pretty sneaky/clever with everything. Probably had us believe for an extra year or so due to their ingenuity.
