Not talking about Vegas which is a different animal

But taking a family trip to Biloxi or L'Auberge in LC as a vacation

Where does this rank on all important trash scale?

Pretty sure lots of those casinos market themselves as family-friendly resorts to hook the families in so they can make money off the gambling dads.

For my evidence, I cite three viewings of National Lampoon's Vegas Vacation.

I assume if you go to Lake Charles for a vacation that you don't have a lot of choices for vacation

so no judgment

I'd say it's a notch below vaping, and a notch above being morbidly obese.

"Kids, do y'all wanna go to the casinos for vacation?! You wont actually be able to go inside and look at all the cool stuff, but you can sit in the room and order room service!!"

I find it would be more selfish to do that to the kids

Honestly, I find Vegas family vacations to be a little odd too.

if you're a teenage boy, there are few places in the world you'd rather be on a weekend day in the summer more than poolside at the golden nugget. and if your family buys a cabana? $$$$

Wait, are you talking about the actual motel on the beach called "the Oasis" in Gulf Port?

I think it's the Grand Casino now, but it used to be the Oasis. It had 3 pools, a waterfall grotto, and a lazy River.

I had the time of my life as an 8 year old in Vegas. I won more stuffed animals than I could ever imagine. Speedy Gonzalez even got his own plane seat.

Seriously, who gives a shite where a family wants to vacation?

Maybe touring the Smithsonian isn't for everyone.

Casino (1995)

[Last lines]

Ace Rothstein: [narrating] The town will never be the same. After the Tangiers, the big corporations took it all over. Today it looks like Disneyland. And while the kids play cardboard pirates, Mommy and Daddy drop the house payments and Junior's college money on the poker slots. In the old days, dealers knew your name, what you drank, what you played. Today, it's like checkin' into an airport. And if you order room service, you're lucky if you get it by Thursday. Today, it's all gone. You get a whale show up with four million in a suitcase, and some twenty-five-year-old hotel school kid is gonna want his Social Security Number. After the Teamsters got knocked out of the box, the corporations tore down practically every one of the old casinos. And where did the money come from to rebuild the pyramids? Junk bonds. But in the end, I wound up right back where I started. I could still pick winners, and I could still make money for all kinds of people back home. And why mess up a good thing? And that's that.

A couple of HWY-90 stickers next to a few school magnets would make it the place to be.
