Flashing the brights at night? Screw you for blinding me. I'm not getting over for you because you're a prick.

Turning your lights off then back on? My bad I wasn't paying attention. Let me get over for you right away.

That's my actions based on the scenario.

lights on and off is to tell you it's to move in front of me
brights tell you to get out the way.

Another one here who never learned the rules of the road.

I'm with you on this. People need to pay more attention while driving. I'm trying to get from point A to B and I don't need you in my way.

Such a dumbass response

Almost as stupid as flashing brights at someone at night for no emergency-related reason.

"Slow traffic keep right" is insufficient

People driving 75 don't think they are the slow ones

was he in the right lane overtaking a car in the left.

Did you just get impatient and then when you say you passed on the right, were you getting over as soon as you cleared the car on the right?

It was a dark stretch of highway. there were two lanes. There was no car in the right at all.

It's his duty to get over, not mine to pass on the right.

because he's having to do all the merging and often times in tight interstates, you get over to let 1 guy pass and there's a line of 10 assholes behind him that won't let you get back over

yeah, i guess i'm just using the interstates here in MS for reference. That makes more sense in a high traffic city

Assholes over here will just drive the speed limit and cruise the left lane, with the right lane free and clear

yep. they are driving the GOD GIVEN SPEED appropriate for the left lane and to hell with all the maniacs who want to go faster.

napoleon, you are going to hell for speeding and this poor ol' camper is just trying to save your immortal soul by annoiting you with holy wiper water and you got all bent out of shape.

nobody has any business driving constantly in the left lane.

its the PASSING lane.

Apparently it is the view of some posters that if they speed and blink their lights continuously THEY have the right to constantly drive in the passing lane.

From your perspective there is no way for you to know this at the time. Just get over and quit being so easily offended and defensive on the roadways.

I was driving on Elysian Fields above Gentilly Blvd. heading towards the lake a few months ago. I’m in the right lane just past Mirabeau and going the speed limit like I always do on surface streets in the city. This count behind me flashed her lights. I immediately took my foot off the pedal and coasted all the way to Filmore.

Surface streets of NOLA are crazy. A couple of months ago at Claibiorne and St Bernard I was at a light and this lady behind me lays on the horn. I couldn't get why. She then poped the curb and ran the redlight. I thought that was insane, then last month at Franklin and Robertson the exact same thing happened. It's like red lights don't exist. Plus you know the people who do that most likely have no insurance.

I have like 23 down to 13 up, no wonder why people in this state are such shitty drivers.

he's right. there are simple rules of the road like staying in the right lane and not thinking YOUR SPEED is the correct speed for the other 7 billion people in the lefthand lane

What about the simple rule of the speed limit being 70? Or, do you just stick to the rules that suit you?

link?

in my experience the light flashers are the ones being courteous, following written and unwritten driving rules and only using the left lane occasionally to pass.

Simply put flashing lights is a sign of aggression. Maybe not to you, but to many people. You may not like it, but the world doesn't revolve around you.

I don't know what she was expecting me to do. There were cars in the other lane too. If she wants to be a dumbass I can return the favor. Luckily I didn't brake check her.

Here's my experience with how this actually goes down: Speed limit is 70, I'm doing 75-80 in the left lane, overtaking one or multiple cars doing 70 in the right lane. As I'm passing the cars in the right lane, somebody rushes up behind me going 90+, waits until they're about 3 car lengths behind me to break, and then flashes their lights. This is what pisses me off and is the case 90% of the time someone flashes their lights.

that happened more than once last night.

Not the flashing, but I would shoot up to 90 at some points and a car would get behind me, tailgating almost.
Then I would get over. Then they would get back behind me because they wanted me to run the pack. I prefer not to run a car pack and stay in the middle.

If you are going to follow a car, try to at least maintain 1.5-2 seconds behind them. (if you can't calculate speed in seconds behind you obviously failed drivers ed, it was on there)
