People who get pissed off when someone flashes them to pass..

What's up with that?
I was driving back from BR last night and I had cruise set at 80. I flashed my lights at this one car and then he put the windshield washer on. I flashed again and they brake checked me. I slowed down, and passed right. When I did that he tried to cut me off. Then he put his brights on and tried to keep up ,I floored it and he was gone in a few seconds behind me . Then went back down to 80.
He was doing 70-75 and I guess just felt the lane was his.
I am a fast driver, but I am still courteous, I move over before I'm even asked to do so.
Flashing lights is asking the car in front of you to move over. Why do some people take offense and get threatened by this?

I never flash my lights at anyone to pass them.
The only time I usually flash my lights is when I'm nice and letting someone know they can merge in front of me.

Flashing to pass is idiotic. If the person is just passing then flashing serves no purpose. If they are too stupid to know how to use the passing lane, they are probably also too stupid to know why you are flashing them. And stupid people get angry when confused.

weak attempt at trying to turn the thread around on him, he's right. there are simple rules of the road like staying in the right lane and not thinking YOUR SPEED is the correct speed for the other 7 billion people in the lefthand lane.

To answer your question though, people are too easily offended on the road
If I get flashed, I'll try to move over, but it will catch you off guard because it's pretty rare thing to do over here

Because people are fricking stupid and narcissistic and drive as if they are the only person on the road.
You flashed your lights at him because he was cruising in the passing lane, so you must be personally mad at him and not just some schlub trying to get home.

If you think it is worth the effort to flash your lights instead of drift over with a miniscule amount of effort to pass, when presumably absolutely no one else is on the road but you two, and then after all that wake up the next day and bitch about it on this site, you might be a douchebag.

This. I also wish they'd have an cop go around giving tickets to people who don't go when the stoplight turns green. And then they just make the light while everyone behind them gets fricked.
