It's an American thing. In Costa Rica the eggs are on an end cap of the aisles in the supermarkets.

False. Australia refrigerates their eggs. Free range and all. Any grocery store will have them in the refrigerator.

This.

Do people really think all of Europe is this idyllic bucolic farm fresh society versus the crass "industrial" system we have here in our country?

Why don't you go find out for yourself. You can read, can't you?

Surely a guy like you can use the internet to find the answer which you seek.

I have neighbors with chickens That sell eggs, but we get all of ours from my FIL. He lives south of Laffy. I live just outside of Opelousas. There are several people around that have chickens. Most of them just let the chickens free range during the day and lock them up in the coup at night.

I plan on getting some chickens of my own one day. Just don't feel like dealing with them right now.

My cousin and his gf went to Greece recently and his gf told me that most people there only have mini fridges because they go to the market every day and only buy what they need for that day. They don't stock up like us gluttonous Americans.

I have friends who keep chickens and give me fresh eggs. Apparently, chickens are fine in Baton Rouge. Roosters might be a different story.

Yeah, they have cultural mores that are different. The small fridges are one. That's not what I'm talking about.

A lot of folks have this view that we all "industrial" here when it comes to food and that all of Europe is much more idyllic. That's more than a bit overplayed, in my mind.

They are also the least productive society in the EU. They have plenty of time to visit markets every single day.

Billions annually from Germany is the only thing keeping them from regressing into the third world.
