Is there a Louisiana law or Federal law against this? I just saw it happen.

It seems like anyone can get an "emotional support" animal these days. How was this person faking it? Need details...

My friend is getting a divorce. His wife is withholding his service dog. I saw her at a store using it as her service dog complete with vest etc. She has no disabilities. I would love to get her arrested for this. Since she's being a huge bitch about the divorce.

My bichon frise "cotton" is just as much of a service dog as your black lab... he pulls all the pussy i can stand

Granted it's a different kind of service, but he looks great in that vest and his matching bowtie

Not necessarily illegal under federal law because under the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act), people can't ask you about what disability that you have the dog for. You can only ask what services it performs and then you basically have to infer based off of that.

However, there are a few states that have penalties. Louisiana does require that the owner provide a certificate or something to prove that the animal is a service animal if they don't normally allow animals in their establishments.

How do you know it was "fake"?

It's against the law to ask someone to prove their dog is a service dog and then anyone can make their dog a service dog by buying a vest and getting paperwork online.

I think it's a sham FWIW.

People are using the therapy and companion dog designation to bring pets on planes and through airports. I saw a couple in Hartsfield walking two Westies through with companion dog leashes. Everyone knows it's bullshite.

Canines don't have the same level of vindictiveness as humans.

A human impersonates a military member it's tapes and posted on YouTube as stolen valor, people search it and laugh.

A canine impersonates a service dog, no one bats an eye, my dog won't even watch YouTube

Saw a girl (prob around 16) walking around carrying a little dog with "emotional support" patches on it's harness. IMO if you're still in high school and need a dog for emotional support then you're in for a rude fricking awakening.

I feel like it'd be really easy to spot a fake dog. I can tell the difference between a stuffed animal and a real live animal pretty easily. I don't believe this happened.
