Lead singer of the Boomtown Rats, and also the guy who played Pink in The Wall.

He was also instrumental in organizing Live Aid back in 1985.

12 top 40 hits. Just because they didn't play Baton Rouge like Duran Duran doesn't mean that nobody has heard of them.

George Dureau dies today and this is all you have to talk about?
Add Vance McAllister's marriage and future election to that list.

As well as quite a few other events. He was also an incredible songwriter for many other artists and was nominated for a Nobel peace prize.

And as Degas said just because he didn't play at LSU doesn't mean he's a c list. It just means the guy saying he's a c list is limited to top 40 radio and hasn't a clue.

Her sisters are named Fifi Trixibelle, Little Pixie, and Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily. Parents were creative, to say the least...

But on topic...RIP

That's weird. In yesterday's thread about the same exact topic, I said she "probably sacrificed herself to save Dr. Bill," a reference to Eyes Wide Shut.

This should be entertaining.

But I really have no idea who Bob Geldof is. Never heard of him once. I think celebrity culture is getting out of control these days.
I just reread this and nearly spit out my geratol. We're talking about a band who peaked in the late seventies. I'm not sure if 35 years ago counts as "these days".
