It will take a team of watchmakers 100,000 hours to assemble Patek Philippe’s Grandmaster Chime.

Well damn. That's 12 years of non stop work.

they stuck in it the most butt ugly case they could find.

Almost as if they actively don't want you to try to wear it, ever.

I'll take a 6102 ($260k), a vintage 2499 (~$1MM) and still have around a million left over.

Yep. This is the poor man's version I'm on the hunt for:

Not quite the same, but whatever. Omega was using natural coatings on their dials long after most went to longer-lasting synthetics. Finding one with a dial in good shape is nearly impossible.

A $2.6MM watch is "very hipster"? You're an idiot.

Jesus Christ, when did owning a mechanical watch become hipster?

Isn't is A. Langhe & Sohne that had the previous ridiculous watch?

Like 1.9 million? Came with its own safe?

A 2015 Mustang EcoBoost makes 310 hp but it's a breathed-upon Focus engine. A 1990 BMW 750iL makes 295 hp but has a 5.0L V12 so perfectly balanced that you can stand a nickel on the intake manifold and start the engine without even moving the coin. I'd take that car any day of the week. it's that kind of appeal. Not better, just more complicated and impressive.

Call a locksmith because when you try to unlock the door on the twenty-five year-old BMW the-
a) key will break off in the lock
b) the lock won't turn
c) the lock mechanism won't let go of the key
d) nothing will happen
e) some combination of the above

While I freely admit your conceptual point that life is about choices, the specific device of a 1990MY BMW is not to be used to illustrate anything positive.

Searching discoverybuying.com in a few weeks. I'll post a group buy just for the OT.

I'd love to have an older omega watch, the old school seamaster or Apollo edition. Is tight

Right up there on the DB scale. Maybe Invicta, D&G, and Michael Kors (or Panerai if OT Baller) edge them out of the very top honors.

Am I the only person that thinks the watch is actually pretty good looking? I mean don't get me wrong I wouldn't have it as my daily watch, but if I could afford a $2.6 million watch, I'm probably going places and wearing things that this would pair well with. Plus it's a work of art.
