I googled "passport renewal" and it gave me a bunch of ad sponsored links to website services that offer "expedited" and "fast" services.

I'm under no time constraints, so no problem waiting a reasonable amount of time to get it processed.

Where do I go..?

TIA.

Clerk of court or I believe the post office on bluebonnet processes them as well.

Check the postal service website...I think you can do it by mail, if you are not in a hurry...

I googled "passport renewal" and the very first link was to the State Dept. website.

You must watch lots of sick porn.

If you're in or near houston, just go to the passport office.

Check the requirements for the DS-82. If you meet criteria and have your old passport (issued after 16 years old and within last 10 years) you can mail the application with you old passport, a photo and the payment all in the mail. I just renewed without any priority and got my passport less than 2 weeks later

Edit: DS-82 is renewal. DS-11 for new passport it not eligible for DS-82, may need to go to clerk of court for that

Just did mine by mail. $110 bucks. Took a few weeks. Don't pay anything extra to another company. Print out forms from dept of state website and mail in.

I just randomly got my passport out and saw that it expires on the 15th of this month.

What exactly did you do to renew by mail for $110?

By no means should you visit an official government website, such as the US Secretary of State.

Did you get your old passport back? I was hoping to keep mine because of the stamps.

i just renewed mine. I went to the post office. Only problem is you were not born in LA so im not sure what you will need. I just brought my expired one in. I could have saved time by filling out paper work at home, but it really wasnt a big deal. the cost was $110 for a renewal and said it would take about 6 weeks.

or you can do what the other posters said. You can print out the forms, mail check, passport and a photo to the address on the ds-82 form

It's ok if it's expired but check the other requirements. Here's where u get started and it'll tell you what you're eligible for and let u fill out the right form online, for printing.

I'm not good at deciphering government websites. I need a passport fast, looks like I can walk into the El Paso office and get it on the spot or within 3 days. Only problem is I have no idea where my old passport, birth certificate, or social security card are. What are the minimum documents required to obtain a passport in person? Getting a birth certificate and social security card shouldn't be too hard to acquire, would these be enough? If getting the passport in person do they take your picture or are you supposed to bring that with you?

No I am not an illegal or running from the law.

You might also consider getting the TSA "Pre-check". It speeds you through security. No body scans, etc.

TSA Pre-Check

If you have American Express/Platinum, they will reimburse you.
