Man, I know this is a joke, but when it comes to little league baseball.. it brings out the worst parents from everywhere. I had a friend who use to manage a little league ball park during the Summer. They had to hire security to be there every night & during the weekends. Parents would get into it with other parents, parents would get into it with their kids, then there were parents who would get into it with the kids on the other team, which usually caused parents to get into it with other parents.
Don't talk about when it came time to pick all-stars or whatever.. He told me one time a parent, whose kid never started once for his team, called and was pissed off because she said her kid was good for "dug out leadership" and thats what all-star teams need.
It is amazing at how many parents convinced themselves their kid was one of the best on the field.

My favorite guy is the one that crawls out from the bottom of the pile and is like, "y'all can have that shite, I'm done with coaching."

I umpired some competitive U12 stuff about 10 years ago.
I threw out a kid for punching the catcher after a close play at home. The kid was safe, but felt the tag was hard so he threw a punch and dropped an F bomb.
It was the coach's kid.
I have never been cursed at so much in my life. After he said his peace, his wife jumped on me from behind the fence. I had to stop the game and threaten to call the game and leave. Then the guy followed me to the car.
I umpired one more game in my life after that - the next one that I was scheduled for.

One of the many reasons I quit coaching youth sports. They had quite a few good parents but oh my god, the majority of them were intolerable losers who thought they were Bill Belichick.

oh for sure, but I'll be damned if I sit there and say nothing while some a-hole yells at my child. I would tell this guy in no uncertain terms that he will keep his comments to himself. If it escalates from there, then so be
Well it kinda depends. If my kid is being a little shite I wouldn't have a problem with a coach yelling at him. If he makes an error or strikes out and then gets cussed out for it, in little league, then yea there would be an issue.

happens every year at the Blanchard field, they have to call the Sheriif's dept to break it up. One reason I never signed my son up for that

I coached junior high softball for 6 years then a short time in high school. At the beginning of each season I would have a parents meeting and explain if I heard any bad comments to the players or umps I would pull their kid from the game.
1st season second game I pulled a kid, fourth game I pulled a second kid. For the rest of my coaching career I never had to pull a third.

Right. that's a different issue. If CptRusty Jr. is actin an arse, then he'll take whatever arse chewing comes from the coach, then another one from me after the game.
I'm talking about an overzealous parent of a teammate yelling at my (hypothetical) child for making errors on the field (strike out, dropped ball, etc.). That would be a major fricking problem, and I could easily see how a fight would start.

That link is hilarious. At least at the softball game, they actually fought

Florida would be a pretty nice place if you took out all the people who weren't born there.

Would share my true thoughts but I'd rather not get banned
